Butterfly? I Prefer Margarine

Greetings. Welcome to the Guild Hall. Today the Guardian of Glitter and I spent the afternoon doing some power leveling in the Margarinefly Fields which is full of low level enemies - easy to kill for fast exp. After a few hours we stopped for a break and sat in the shade of a giant sparkle sap tree and ate the rations we had brought. Suddenly a massive wave of margarineflies rose from the tall grass. They were flying so tight they looked like a tornado of colour. Slowly, they broke formation to reveal a girl standing in the center of the swirling creatures.

This was created for the Creative Card Crew “The Great Outdoors” challenge that is happening now! Come play along with us and you can win three digis from the super cute selection over at Crafty Sentiments.

I started out by colouring the image using Prismacolor pencils and cutting her out. Setting that aside, I coloured the background with Distress Inks, making a sky and some grass. Next I stamped the little butterflies using the Unity “With Her Own Wings” set and coloured them in with Distress Markers. The sentiment I stamped using the Unity “You Give Me Tiny Butterflies” set. It was a little plain, so I cut a tree using the Art Philosophy cartridge and embossed the leafy part with my Cuttlebug. Some brads finished off the front, earning me +282 fastening exp points.

On the inside I stamped the butterfly from the “You Give Me Tiny Butterflies” set and coloured it in with Distress Markers. The sentiment was stamped using the Unity “Deer To Me” set.

To make the envelop match, I stamped it with the same butterfly background using Rusty Hinge Distress Ink.

This outdoorsy card will skip into the following challenges:
Allsorts Challenge #214: Favourite Things (Prismacolor pencils and Cuttlebug)
Desert Island Crafters Challenge #57 (used #1: let’s go outside, #8: emboss it, #9: dies and punches & #10: metal embellishment)

My hand slid to the hilt of my sword and I saw Nikki grasp her great staff out of the corner of my eye. Neither of us were taking chances with this new arrival, no matter how innocent she appeared. The girl skipped over to where we were lunching as the Guardian of Glitter and I stood so we were ready to strike should the need arise. She stopped in front of us, giggled and did a twirl. When she raised her head again, her sweet face had changed into that of a harkfly demon - red eyes and sharp fangs. Suddenly, we were engaged in battle! This kill would net us so much exp we were sure to level up! Cue battle music and cut scene...
